A Buzzing Success: NABA at the Community Event

We’re thrilled to report that our recent community event was a wonderful success — and the bees stole the show.

At the heart of the display was an observation hive assembled by Quick Foy, who generously contributed bees from his own apiary to bring it to life. The hive gave visitors a rare, up-close look at a living bee colony in action, and the response from the community was everything we could have hoped for.

Children were especially drawn to the display, crowding around to watch the bees at work with wide eyes and no shortage of questions. But it wasn’t just the younger visitors who were captivated — adults lingered just as long, and several left with a new spark of curiosity. A number of them expressed genuine interest in learning more about beekeeping and possibly joining the craft themselves.

Events like this are only possible thanks to the dedication of NABA members who show up and share their passion with the community. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success: Quick Foy, Mike Brent, Jack Ratcliff, Jordan Allen, Shawn Briggs, and Jeff Powlesland. Your time and enthusiasm make a real difference.

If you attended and want to learn more about beekeeping, we’d love to have you. Reach out to us or come to one of our meetings — the hive is always growing.
