Getting Started

Beginning Beekeeping will require you to obtain some intial supplies.  You will need protective gear and basic hive equipment.  There are many kinds of setups that you can use – from top bar hives to 10-frame hives.  It is up to your personal desires, but these are the most common to consider as a starting point.

You wear

Beekeeper suit

  • A Beekeeper Suit is full body and typically comes with a hat and veil
  • Alternatively, you could go with a beekeeper Jacket with a Hat and Veil, and some thick Pants (not pictured)
  • A pair of beekeeping Gloves
  • Thick Socks and Shoes
