Nashville Area Beekeepers Association

NABA Field Day Sat June 8 CANCELED

UPDATE: Field day canceled because of inclement weather

The June 2019 meeting of the Nashville Area Beekeepers Association will be held on Saturday, June 8, starting at 9:30 am (check-in will begin at 8:30 am). Note this is on a Saturday and not our normal meeting day of the second Sunday of each month.

NABA family members are also invited, but not minor children. Members of other bee associations, as well as any interested people, are also cordially invited to attend. Bring a veil if you wish to observe the open hive activities.

The event will be a “Field Day” with a number of hands-on “beekeeping teaching stations”, a BBQ lunch available, and four hives (complete with bees) will be raffled off.

Field Day will be conducted this year on the campus of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture headquarters at Ellington, in the area of the honey bee apiary operated by the Nashville Area Beekeepers Association.

The Ellington Agricultural Center is located at 440 Hogan Road, Nashville. Enter at the main gate and simply follow the signs to the event.

In case of bad weather, we will cancel the event 24 hours ahead of time and send out a notice.
