Nashville Area Beekeepers Association

April 8 Meeting at Amy Grant’s farm

Our next meeting will not be at Belmont. This is our annual Pot-luck Meal, Farm Day Event at the Amy Grant’s farm. The meeting will start at 2:00pm on Sunday April 8th.  There will be a brief Board of Directors meeting at 1:00pm.

Our key note speaker will be former Tennessee Beekeeper Association president, Jim Garrison.  He will talk about “Tips for New Beekeepers”.   Also, on the agenda will be Joel White’s “This Month in Beekeeping” and instruction on testing for mite levels.

Amy will be joining us and we will also have entertainment from James Slater

Bring a potluck item of your choice: salad, main dish, vegetable or dessert.   Also, bring beverages of your choice for your own use.  We will provide plates, plasticware, napkins, and cups.   A very limited amount of bottled water will be available, so we encourage you to bring your own beverages.

In addition to food and beverages, you will need lawn chairs or a blanket.   Bug spray might also be helpful.   We will provide portable toilets.

The address is 1761 Lawrence Road, Franklin, TN 37169. Signs will be posted as you get closer.

We welcome the whole family for this fun day on the farm.   If you are not a NABA member or a member of another association, you should also feel free to join us.  Our membership is only $10 per year for the family.

Our intent is to be “a go”, come rain or shine.  If the weather is questionable, we will move inside the barn.  Only in the event of the potential for severe weather, will we cancel.   A decision will be made 24 hours ahead of time and an e-mail notice sent out.
